What is ‘Healthcare Connect’?

Healthcare Connect is an interactive online portal provided by Brookson Healthcare Services LLP for NHS Trusts. Healthcare Connect enables Locums to complete timesheets online and holds the Contract details for each of your placements. Existing agency timesheets and invoice processes for this placement should not be used. Healthcare Connect can be accessed via multiple devices including desktop PCs, smartphones and tablets with internet access.

Why are we changing how locum’s engage with Trusts?

Traditionally, locum’s contract with the recruitment agency, but in doing so, this requires the Trust to pay VAT on the locum’s fees and the Agency’s margin.  By using Brookson Healthcare Services LLP the locum PSC will be contractually engaged directly with the Trust for the assignment and no VAT will be payable for the locum’s services.

Agencies will still play a vital role in sourcing work for locums and booking placements with Trusts.

How does the billing process change with Brookson Healthcare Services LLP?

Healthcare Connect will automatically produce an invoice for the Trust on behalf of the locum. Locums should not raise an invoice directly to the Trust as this is not required when using Healthcare Connect.

Who will pay the locum?

Payment will be made from the Trust directly to the locum in accordance with the payment terms in the contract. Payment directly from the Trust net of VAT and a copy of the invoice created by healthcare connect will be emailed directly to the locum for their records.

What happens when the placement is confirmed?

Once the placement has been confirmed by the agency, the locum will receive a welcome email from Brookson Healthcare Services LLP detailing how Healthcare Connect can be accessed. First time users will receive a text message containing their Healthcare Connect password. This can easily be changed to something more memorable when the locum first logs in to Healthcare Connect.

What happens with timesheets?

A timesheet should be completed and approved onsite using Healthcare Connect at the end of each shift to avoid a delay to payment. Timesheets are approved directly from the locum’s timesheet screen by any authorised timesheet approver within. The Trust have all been trained on using Healthcare Connect so they will be able to authorise a locum’s timesheet for payment in just a few seconds.
