Bio

I’m Kelly Kilpin, Director of Financial Services at Brookson Financial.
I lead our Financial Services proposition for contractors and freelance professionals across the UK, bringing nearly 30 years’ experience in the financial services industry. My role spans strategy, governance, and client outcomes across Mortgages, Protection, Investments, Pensions, and Retirement Planning, and I’m proud to help our firm steward over £250 million in assets under management while delivering truly holistic, needs‑based advice.
Over the course of my career, I’ve worked across both Sales and Compliance, which means I balance commercial focus with strong regulatory discipline. I’m skilled in operational management, blue‑sky strategic planning, budget and cost control, sales leadership, training delivery, and financial advisory. I care deeply about building lean, high‑performing teams and creating clear, client‑centred processes that scale—without compromising the quality, clarity, or integrity of our advice.
I believe financial guidance should be straightforward and accessible. I champion clear communication and practical, data‑led insight that gives independent workers the confidence to make better long‑term decisions. I’m professionally qualified through the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) and bring pragmatic judgment and an unwavering commitment to doing the right thing for our customers and colleagues.
Away from work, I’m married with two children. I love DIY and home improvements, with many a weekend spent with a paint brush or screw driver in hand.

Three Fun Facts About Me

  • I figure skated competitively until I was my teens, attending multiple competitions around the UK. I met Torvill and Dean at one of my skating shows.
  • I love to sing – you can’t keep me away from a karaoke on a night out!
  • I am clumsy! If there is a hole in the ground, my feet will find it. I walk into things, trip, stumble, fall all the time. I often have bruises due to my clumsiness.

What's a hobby or interest you've always wanted to pursue but haven't had the chance to yet?

I’d love to travel around Scotland. Complete the North Coast 500 in the highlands leisurely. I think that will be a retirement goal.

If you could eat one type of cuisine for the rest of your life, what would it be?

It would be Chinese. I love crispy shredded beef, Singapore vermicelli noodles and salt & pepper chips.
